The rules are no cars in the campsite which was great because there is a row of tent sites on the front row so not much obstructing our view. Phenomenal sunrise and sunset views! Very little road noise from US 1 down at these sites.
Basically a big parking lot next to the highway. Listened to semis air braking all night long. There are many better options in the area. Keep looking.
Only drawback to campground is no full hook up sites near the water and a $3/day charge to run AC. I would definitely camp here again
Bathrooms are spotless with plenty of hot water. $3 for a bundle of dry firewood. 25 minutes to Acadia NP Schoodic and 45 minutes to Acadia NP at main area. Tracey's Seafood next door had cooked lobsters to go for$6/lb. We got 5 with steamed clams, slaw and onion rings for $70!!!! Paid 3x that for 4 at another place. Warning: Tracey's is NOT fancy, it is....uhm, rustic...but good food & cheap.
Not sure why the other review was so negative... We stayed here for 7 nights in August. We didn't get one of the few full hook up sites which are near US 1 (noise). We had a 30 amp/water site pull thru (#25) which faces the water, Desert Narrows (Bay/inlet from the ocean) which was plenty of room for our 32' motorhome.
