You don't come here for the scenery, but all the food was delicious. Best clam chowder we had during our five days in Maine. Lobster rolls were as good as anywhere else but a lot cheaper. The Pickle chips were also a great appetizer!
Decent if you need a quick bite. There was about 2 other tables that had already been served when we walked in and sat down and the waitresses made it seem like an inconvenience to them that they had to serve us. They had bad attitudes and there were many dirty tables.
If you are looking for the freshest fried haddock sandwich you have ever eaten, look no further. For $7.00 you get a thick slab perfectly cooked overhanging the roll. I was expecting mediocre but got amazing. I'll admit that it's on a pretty plain bun with a piece of iceberg lettuce and some sliced tomato, but it would have been terrific on a shingle of stale bread. And to have it with a Maine craft brew was icing on the cake. Speaking of which, the rhubarb custard cake was unique and scrumptious! I'll be back!
We had one of the Father's Day specials--two lobster rolls with fries for $20. The lobster rolls were good as were the fries. We finished with Nanny's fresh blueberry pie with ice cream. For the price you can't go wrong. Waitress was friendly and seemed to know most everyone in the dining room. Speaking of the dining room, it could use some fresh paint and wallpaper.
Lobster tasted about as good as anywhere (definitely better than where we ate in Acadia the night before). Come here for the food, the ambiance makes your local elementary school cafeteria seem luxurious...maybe they could update the look a little, but I hope they never change the local blueberry pie.
